Brewing Up a Presidential Campaign
When he ran for President of the United States, former Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper turned to Marty for help reaching the nation’s beer lovers. Jones concepted and wrote the scripts for these craft-beer-minded campaign videos, and counted on his longtime pal Gabe Dohrn (Denver Film Company) for the artful film magic. These spots helped Hickenlooper connect with an audience unique to his campaign and generated hearty trad and social media attention and funding support. They also showcased the novel lessons Hick learned as longtime pioneer and collaborator in the US craft beer trade. We remain convinced that, had these been used at the start of his campaign, there’d be a beer-brewing Hick headed to the White House. Seriously.
A New Fu**ing Approach to Equipment Funding
Over the past year, Marty has helped Brewery Finance — a Colorado-based company and the first equipment lender focused exclusively on the craft beer industry — revamp its image and raise its profile.
Marty has helped Brewery Finance create fresh ways to promote its highly valuable services and expertise to the company’s craft brewer audience. His “Fund should not be an F-word” efforts started with ads and promotional pieces that irreverently spoof the near-taboo subject of funding.
A Cansumate Beer Education/PR Canpaign
As the longtime lead singer and idea man for Cask Global Canning Solutions (the inventors of micro-canning equipment for craft brewers), Marty has served as publicist, storyteller, copywriter and humorist for the pioneering company. This year Marty led a special project to help beer-minded students at Metropolitan State University Denver get the ultimate higher beer education.
Fruity Beers for Summer
Marty Jones discusses this summer’s most refreshing fruit beers with Colorado TV legend Ernie Bjorkman.
From the Fox31 morning news program in Colorado.
What makes a good fruit for beer. Better as a beer, IPA, Cider or Sour? Beer Expert Marty Jones gives us some advice on fruit beers.
Beers made with fruit were once limited to venerable Belgian-styled lambics and sour beers and were made with a just a few kinds of fruit. Craft beer is now in the throes of a fruit beer revolution with a wide range of fruit showing up in previously fruit-free beer styles including IPAs and many others. These new fruit beers have quickly become very popular in Colorado.
New England IPA’s: Hazy and Hoppy
IPA continues to be the style of beer consumed in massive quantities by craft obsessives and that consumption doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon.
The beer’s rapid rise has naturally resulted in differing riffs on the style, with West Coast IPA being the most widely known, but another regional version has recently been making its own case for recognition, the New England IPA.
Colorado’s first all-female beer collaboration
Today we’re making Colorado beer history with the first all-female-brewed collaboration beer in Colorado.
The beer (a Belgian-style pale ale) is being brewed by our own Bess Dougherty and a number of other women in the CO craft beer scene.
