Wanna get your German on this month? Dry Dock Brewing’s annual Docktoberfest bash takes place Sept. 18 from 11 AM to 5 PM at our South Dock location. Aurora mayor Mike Coffman will carry out the annual  ceremonial tapping of the first keg of Docktoberfest, our revered German-style fall beer. We’ll also have five other German-style lagers on tap (Helles, Smoked Helles, Hefeweizen, Franconian Lager and Dunkel) along with a stein-holding contest, a live polka band, and a food truck. I am attaching a couple photos from last year’s Docktoberfest.

Here are tasting notes for Docktoberfest: This Märzen-style lager (5.9% ABV, 22 IBU) features a biscuit-like aroma and moderate bitterness that melds into rich malt and caramel flavors. A medium-bodied treat, it gets its deep copper color, toasted flavor, and malty goodness from a base of Vienna malt and a blend of three more traditional German malts. It is hopped with Hallertau Mittelfrueh, a classic noble hop.
