Dry Dock Brewing Company (Aurora, Colorado) is now releasing a brand new beer for its year-round canned beer lineup. Boatmeal Stout is luscious 6.2% ABV stout made with American two-row malt, Heritage and extra dark crystal malts, roasted barley and a hearty addition of flaked oats. The beer is hopped with Eukanot hops.

This creamy textured beer features an aroma of coffee and dark malts atop flavors of toffee, and roasted grains. The beer is sold in sixpacks of 12-ounce cans and is now going to retailers, bars and restaurants across Colorado and Kansas. The beer replaces Dry Dock’s Vanilla Porter in the brewery’s year-round lineup.

“With Boatmeal Stout,” says Dry Dock co-founder Kevin DeLange, “we’re showcasing our love for the traditional styles we started with, to make a stand for and bring these beers back in some way. It’s a classic beer style that, like us, more of our fans are seeking out nowadays.”

Dry Dock is also releasing two more stouts for its winter seasonals. Chocolate Cherry Imperial Stout is a robust barrel-aged imperial stout of 13% ABV. It’s made with hefty amounts of malts, starting with a bae malt of Marris Otter (imported from the UK), Heritage Crystal, roasted barley and Carafa malts, along with Magnum hops. The beer was aged for 18 months in a mix of Elijah Craig, Heaven Hill, Weller and Buffalo Trace bourbon barrels.

Before packaging, the beer was aged for a few days on cocoa nibs and then graced with a hint of tart cherry flavor. The result is a velvet-bodied beer with deep flavors of roasted grains, coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla, coconut, and a subtle note of cherries. This is a very limited release beer of just 150 cases of 12-ounce cans, sold in fourpacks at select retailers in Colorado.

For fans of lighter stouts enhanced with adjuncts, Dry Dock is releasing Banana Chocolate Stout. This special version of Boatmeal Stout is aged on cocoa nibs for several days before getting a touch of natural banana flavoring prior to packaging. It features flavors of dark malts and coffee along with rich chocolate flavors and gentle notes of banana. The beer is sold in sixpacks of 12-ounce cans at Dry Dock retailers in CO and KS.
